Kinda like most people are pawns and people like Jeph or the monster king are special pieces, the pawns would be consumed immediately but the named pieces (jeph and such) would at least last longer and... And this simile really got away from me.
yeah, it actually is kinda like that.
as a writer/creator you're gonna take those liberties

maybe Jeph wouldn't be able to resist as well as say Sharlon or definitely not Vimmer KoKo... but he would probably fare well on his own. for a while.
but as time passes the element eater will want more and more complex combinations of elements.

This "element eater" is very interesting though.
It makes me wonder why it's called element eater, when the only thing it has "eaten" are people.
Either way, the next several issues would probably answer these questions!
Also, congratulations on reaching issue 20-err-a C:
the body is made up of elements.
oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, calcium, phosphorus... and then even trace elements of others.
